Give your body a boost

Give your body a boost

The last two things I had picked up a few days before Christmas were progesterone cream and castor oil. There’s not much to those two products as I’m new to castor oil; still learning more about it; and await any outcomes from it’s application. As for the progesterone cream that I’ve used about ten to fifteen years ago, it’s also a work in progress as I await more results from its application as well.

What I’m going to cover in this post is something I’ve had sitting around in my apartment for almost a year. Little did I know how powerfully healthy these tiny seeds are for our body.

Over eight years ago, I had been adding these seeds to my coffee. The coffee I had been drinking all day, into the night hours, every day. My diet had been terrible as well as my sleeping habits. I hadn’t spent any time improving those back then. In the years that followed, I had managed to significantly improve my diet, consuming mostly vegan meals utilizing a collection of vegan recipes I gathered.

This switch turned out to be short-lived. Five years later, my diet had digressed to how it had been when I had had those allergy flare-ups. As a result, my allergies kicked in once again as I began consuming chia seeds. This indicated to me that I should stop.

I have since flipped my eating habits to a plant-based diet and have reaped the rewards of doing so. Weight loss and better health have been the outcome; and I’m able to consume chia seeds all day, every day without an allergic response.

What make chia seeds for powerfully healthy?

Chia seeds are a complete protein. They’re a great source of calcium, omega-3 fatty acids; and both soluble and insoluble fiber. They absorb 12 times their weight when soaked and help our body process fluids more efficiently. They have positive effects on hormones, blood sugar, sleep and our skin’s appearance. They help to neutralize free radicals which slow the aging process and also help balance our gut microbiome. They are carbohydrates, protein, fiber, and healthy fats; and so they release a steady source of energy that gets us through our days without caffeine or energy drinks.

They are simple to add to our diet

Soak 1-2 tablespoons in a glass of water. Let soak for 15 minutes, constantly stirring them.

Add them to yogurt, a smoothie, or salad dressing.

Drink them in your drinking water.

Use them as a thickener.

Use them instead of eggs in recipes.

All this with these tiny chia seeds.
